I went to my first Take Back The Night tonight. It was amazing. I spoke about my experiences as a survivor of sexual assault and the support I felt was amazing. It was also (in a very weird way) wonderful to see other survivors. It's powerful in and of itself to know that there are other people who know what I'm feeling. Someone said "Each experience is so universal and yet so unique" and it really struck me.
I also had my bestie with me which honestly gave me the strength to get through speaking to the crowd. As soon as I was done I headed straight to her arms. Without her I'm not sure I would have been strong enough to ever get help in the first place.

I also went to the doctor on Monday about my stomach pains. It turns out I most likely have a distended stomach. It basically just means my stomach is too small and can't stretch properly when I eat. The solution is some medication and and eat a lot (like 7-10) small meals a day. I still have to get an upper scope but I feel so much better knowing we probably have an answer. And it's nothing dangerous most likely.

So, uh, yay first entry on DW? :D

Yay! You're on DW! \o/ Glad to see you here--at least we're not getting hacked constantly with DDOS over here. >.>

Cool on the TBTN. I've never actually been to one of those before. I'm glad that it helped you feel better and that you were able to speak to the crowd (one of my least favorite things ever).

*hugs!* Hope the tummy feels better soon, now that you know what it is.
